An important part in the book "Wonder" is when August's sister see's August as a baby at the hospital. This scene is important because Olivia the sister has to adapt to how August looks and she would get mad when people just stared at her brother. This part creates a little bit of conflict because Olivia starts arguing with the people staring at her brother. Olivia is surprised to see her brother and get all angry when people stare at her brother because August does not have a normal face and when people stare at him Olivia gets ticked off. This is at the Rising Action because it is just details getting into how August gets treated. "I knew he didnt look exactly normal, but I really didn't understand why strangers seemed so shocked when they saw him. Horrified. Scared. Sickened." (85) "There are so many words I can use to describe the looks on people's faces. ANd for a long time I didn't get it. I'd just get mad. Mad when they stared. Mad when they looked away. "what the heck are you looking at?" I'd say to people- even grown-ups." (85) I predict no one is going to want to be August's friend until they really get to know him and spend time with him.
